Entertainment One is the largest wholesaler of DVDs, CDs and video games in Canada. The business has established relationships with the industry’s largest producers developed over 25 years and it currently serves more than 3,000 customers.
Entertainment One has the largest DVD library and CD catalogue in Canada, with more than 30,000 DVD titles and 12,000 CD titles. The business is also the exclusive non direct distributor of DVDs for Universal Home Video and Fox Studios in the Canadian market.
Entertainment One focuses on non-traditional home entertainment retailers (i.e. grocery and drug stores) which are stocking an increasingly diversified product offering including home entertainment. It is also the largest Internet fulfilment wholesaler of home entertainment products in the Canadian market.
Entertainment One has approximately 400 employees in Canada. Entertainment One’s main distribution centre in Canada is a 113,000 square foot warehouse and head office in Brampton, Ontario (just north of Toronto International Airport). In addition it has six other Canadian facilities including locations in Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal.
Entertainment One is driving change in the Canadian wholesale market and has introduced VMI services to selected customers. Under the VMI model, the management of the retailer’s inventory plan and day-to-day inventory replenishment is taken over by the distributor. The distributor receives sales and inventory data electronically from point of sale terminals at the retailer. The distributor is then responsible for creating and maintaining the inventory plan on behalf of the retailer and is also responsible for selecting product lines and for the size and timing of inventory orders. The expansion of VMI services across more of Entertainment One’s customer base represents an opportunity for the business going forward.
In addition the Group owns a small, retail chain of 82 stores branded CDplus. The stores are based in secondary locations within Canada.

The U.S. distribution operation employs the largest marketing and sales departments of any independent, with four regional sales offices in New York City, Boston, Nashville and Minneapolis. KOCH’s highly experienced marketing and sales staff number over 50 music and video professionals. KOCH’s state-of-the-art 90,000 sq.ft. distribution center in Port Washington, New York houses America’s most technologically-advanced independent music and video distribution facility.
On 14 May 2007 the KOCH acquired Navarre Entertainment Media Inc, a distributor of independent music labels in the United States. This deal cemented KOCH’s position as the number 1 independent distributor in the US.
